The Voice of the Wetlands Allstars feat. Tab Benoit, Cyril Neville, Big Chief Monk Boudreaux, Johnny Sansone, Waylon Thibodeaux, Corey Duplechin, and Johnny Vidacovich celebrate the 2013 Wanee Festival in Live Oak, FL on April 18, 2013. Activism through Music has been the bands goal with a journey that began in 2004 with the Voice of the Wetlands All-star’s debut CD on Ryko Disc. The bands tours and shows have been highlighted by their annual appearance and the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival. We are looking forward to the historical Wanee Festival and plan to have a few special guest join them. There Ain’t No Funk Like Louisiana Funk and The Voice of the Wetlands Allstars prove that every time they take the stage.

Southern Hospitality is comprised of lap steel guitar master Damon Fowler, guitarist extraordinaire JP Soars, and keyboard wizard Victor Wainwright. With echoes of Muscle Shoals and Macon, these musician’s musicians draw on their rich heritage of Southern soul, blues, and rock music to create a fresh translation of Americana and Southern roots music with a modern sensibility.

Tab Benoit receives the Blues Foundation’s nomination for the 2013 Blue Music Award for Contemporary Blues Male Artist of 2013.

At last year’s Blues Music Awards Tab took home three awards which were the ”Contemporary Blues Male”, “Contemporary Blues Album”, and “B.B. King Entertainer of the Year” awards This year he is recognized along with Robert Cray, Gary Clark Jr, Joe Louis Walker, and the late Michael Burkes.

In May of this year 30 Blues music industry professionals nominated their choices in the fifth annual Blues Blast Music Awards. Tab Benoit is on the cover of the July/August Issue of Blues Revue Magazine – The home of the largest blues publications, Blues Revue is the world’s largest print publication devoted to Blues Music and the musicians that play the music.

In January, Medicine made something of a clean sweep at the Best of the Beat Awards presented by Offbeat Magazine, Louisiana’s music bible: It topped the Best Blues Album category while Benoit locked up Best Blues Artist and Songwriter of the Year honors. That carries a lot of weight in a part of the country so rife with music.

Just a few months later, Benoit again had to clear space on his mantelpiece. His swamp blues juggernaut struck gold at the 2012 Blues Music Awards in Memphis, nosing out the competition in the Contemporary Blues Album division. Benoit also walked away with the coveted Contemporary Blues Male Artist and B.B. King Entertainer of the Year awards. Following the excitement of the ceremony and a triumphant command performance at the Cook Convention Center, there could be no doubt: Benoit’s return to the seclusion of the Bayou had culminated in his most compelling album in years.

Blues is a great community of people who love each other and love the music and that’s the only reason that it continues the way it does.
