On Friday July 27th Offbeat Magazine readers and Tab Benoit’s fans were heard when Tab received three of the awards that he was nominated for at the 2012 BEST OF THE BEAT Awards.
The categories include “Best Blues Band”, “Best Blues CD” for his 2011 release “Medicine” and “Songwriter of the Year”. The Voice of the Wetlands organization also received the award for Best Festival Outside Of New Orleans.
When accepting his awards Tab expressed what an honor it is to receive these wins from the city and state where all American music was founded and even though it wasn’t his first the honor does not go unappreciated.

The 11 song “MEDICINE” was co- produced by Tab Benoit / Anders Osborne and engineered by David Z at Dockside Studio in Maurice, LA. The recording features Tab on guitar and vocals along with Anders Osborne on guitar , Ivan Neville on Hammond B3, Drummer Brady Blade, Corey Duplechin on Bass, and Michael Doucet on Fiddle.
