The 2013 Voice of the Wetlands Festival would like to THANK EVERYONE

The 2013 Voice of the Wetlands Festival would like to THANK EVERYONE who visited this years festival in Houma, LA.
We can’t say enough about the great volunteers who travel from all over the world to work and help Louisiana’s only Environmental Wetlands Festival.
The music and the vibe that you helped to create was very humbling. Thank you and we hope to see all of you next year.

The Tri-Parish Times say’s “Voice of the Wetlands staged its festival for the 10th time at its traditional grounds, Southdown Plantation in Houma. The juncture of staving off what the future holds and savoring the cultural gumbo of past and present is surreal, the stakes of doing nothing embedded in Johnny Sansone’s harmonica, the contrasting accordions of Jo-el Sonnier and Chubby Carrier, Michael Doucet’s fiddle, Big Chief Monk Boudreaux’s headdress and Houma-grown Tab Benoit’s blues guitar.”

“So it’s no surprise that music lovers and curious explorers converge on this endangered town from throughout the country: Illinois. Georgia. Massachusetts. Connecticut. Arizona. New Mexico. Michigan. Why, yes, even Hawaii.” READ MORE HERE
